About the role

We are looking for an experienced Regulatory Compliance Coordinator to join our team in Asker.

In this role, you will lead and coordinate all activities related to regulatory compliance across multiple engineering disciplines. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies, processes, and documentation that ensure the project fully meets all applicable local, national, and international regulations.

This position plays a key role in building a strong compliance culture within the project organization, ensuring that quality, safety, and regulatory standards are upheld at every stage.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall regulatory compliance strategy for the project.
• Coordinate all regulatory compliance activities within the project scope and across disciplines.
• Create and maintain compliance matrices, process flows, and documentation (WIs, GLs, method statements).
• Establish and lead a compliance team, ensuring consistent application of regulations across all project areas.
• Verify that all documentation, systems, and procedures meet regulatory standards.
• Organize and lead meetings with stakeholders to ensure full control and transparency of regulatory matters.
• Monitor applicable laws, directives, and standards, ensuring they are up to date and properly implemented.
• Provide training and guidance to project personnel on compliance topics.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory risks within the project.
• Report and escalate non-conformities and ensure corrective/preventive actions are taken.
• Support in obtaining necessary permits, licenses, and certifications.
• Coordinate regulatory audits and inspections, ensuring readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or environmental science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience within compliance or regulatory affairs.
• Strong understanding of national and international regulatory frameworks relevant to engineering.
• Deep knowledge of directives such as PED, ATEX, machinery, EMC, RED, low voltage, RoHS, and REACH.
• Familiarity with engineering standards including ASTM, ANSI, API, EN, ISO, NORSOK, and DNV.
• Understanding of management standards such as ISO 9000, ISO 14000, OSHA, IEEE, and EN.
• Experience leading compliance programs and managing regulatory audits or inspections.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build effective, multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented, with excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrates strategic thinking, accountability, and collaboration.
