Aibel IT is a corporate function, delivering professional IT services to Aibel business. We are looking for a DevOps Department Manager who is interested in and motivated to lead our team. Our solutions are key to ensure efficient execution of business projects within oil & gas, wind energy and transformation into new business areas. Your insight into new trends and existing knowledge will create a clear strategy, delivering on new initiatives and deliverables both internally in IT, and towards engineering end-users.

About the position
You’ll be part of Application Management leadership, working closely with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders. If you’re passionate about cloud technology, team development, and creating an agile DevOps experience, this is the role for you. Responsibilities and tasks include

• Drive the DevOps area in line with strategy and business needs, staying on top of tech trends and improvements

• Define the vision, set the strategy, and deliver the roadmap for DevOps

• Take part in IT architecture discussions and own the development platform, including governance and standards

• Lead and develop a skilled IT team, ensuring growth and managing budgets

• Build strong collaboration with stakeholders and secure company-wide adoption of new cloud services

• Promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor in Information technology, engineering, economy or similar. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal qualifications

• Strong knowledge of emerging tech and trends, with solid analytical and technical skills

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with development tools and technologies (MS Azure, Kubernetes, React, GitHub, etc.)

• At least 5 years in IT, including hands-on experience with Agile development and DevOps principles

• Leadership experience and/or IT project management background is an advantage

• Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken
