System Responsible Engineer

Location: Stavanger and Stord
 

About the role

We are seeking a skilled System Responsible Engineer to oversee temporary and permanent process systems during construction, commissioning, and handover phases. This role ensures safe, efficient execution of commissioning activities and alignment between operations, maintenance, contractors, and suppliers. The position is primarily onshore but includes periodic offshore travel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute commissioning activities for assigned process systems.
• Verify field installations against design, ISO drawings, and P&IDs.
• Participate in system check-outs, walkdowns (yellow line), and RFCC handover processes.
• Plan and facilitate static and dynamic commissioning activities.
• Witness FAT/SAT activities.
• Develop and review commissioning procedures.
• Support smooth transition from project to operations.

• Ensure alignment and communication across operations, maintenance, contractors, and suppliers.
• Coordinate with the Commissioning Utility Lead on temporary utilities and supplies.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Field Lead on progress and issues.
• Assist with documentation collection for temporary system decommissioning.

• Update master dossiers, red-line markups, valve lists, and blinding lists as instructed.
• Contribute to completion strategies and commissioning planning.
• Manage ATS and other resources related to commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of P&IDs, ISO drawings, process systems, and commissioning workflows.
• Experience with construction/commissioning in oil and gas projects.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• FSE certification.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English.
