Data Engineer

You will be joining Ulstein's team of data engineers and data scientists to develop, support, and facilitate the ongoing development of digital services for vessels in operations and the digitalization of shipbuilding and ship design services at Ulstein. We believe digitalization will play a significant role in making shipping operations and shipbuilding smarter, and in the ongoing decarbonization of shipping operations. You, as a Data Engineer, will make a significant contribution to this initiative. 

Ulstein  seeks a Data Engineer with some experience in big-data analytics, data collection, collation, storage, and retrieval. The core function as Data Engineer will be to design, build, and maintain systems and infrastructure for collection, storage, and processing of raw data on Ulstein's data platform. 

 

Office Location: Ulsteinvik, Ålesund, Oslo 

Work tasks

• Creating automated workflows (pipelines) to ingest data from various sources, clean it, and pre-process it 
  
• Developing and maintaining structured data storage systems 
  
• Securing efficient and flawless retrieval and storage of data 
  
• Establishment of data flows via API 

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters' degree in relevant field 
  
• Experience with programming with tools and languages such as Python, SQL, ADF, dbt and Snowflake    
  
• Interest in data analytics and willingness to learn 
  
• Interest in sensors and data acquisition systems is valued
