Join Us
Due to increased R&D projects, WELL ID is seeking a Software Engineer to join our small and dynamic software team. This role will let you take ownership of challenging projects and make significant contributions to our novel radar-based wellbore imaging technology. Your tasks could span the whole stack from data acquisition to front-end, but you would be free to choose which areas you wish to work on.

About the position

Well ID is seeking an experienced software engineer with high agency. You should have experience working in an environment of rapid development where the end goal is sometimes only vaguely defined. You should be comfortable with taking on tasks you do not have the required skills or knowledge to implement immediately, and to quickly teach yourself how to do them.

We are not seeking a person to work through jira tickets or close issues on github. We are not in need of a specialist, neither front-end nor back-end. Our software team is small, and everyone is expected to be involved in all parts of the software stack.

Requirements:

• Essential:

  • 5 years’ professional experience working as a software engineer (or equivalent)

  • Proven experience working on R&D projects

  • High agency and independence

  • Strong background in Python

  • Experience with system architecture design

  • Fluent in English, both written and oral

  • Live in the Stavanger area

• Good to have:

  • Proven experience working closely with a small team

  • Strong experience with C++

  • Experience with SQL and databases

  • Experience with parallelization / HPC

  • Experience with CUDA or CuPy

  • Experience with QT, PyQtGraph, WebGL
