As Senior Business Controller, you play a central role in how Appear manages performance and makes decisions. Working at the intersection of finance, operations, and strategy, you connect rigorous planning and clear reporting with fact-based dialogue with business leaders. You turn complex data into practical insight that drives priorities and strengthens execution.

You don't just analyze results- you shape how managers understand performance, manage risks, and improve outcomes. With direct exposure to the CFO and leadership team, you challenge assumptions, strengthen processes, and professionalize the finance function as the company grows. This is a hands-on role where you bring structure to evolving processes and make complexity manageable.

What You'll Own

Business Controlling & Decision Support;
Deliver clear reporting, models, and dashboards that enable fast, informed decisions and highlight key performance drivers.

Strategic Business Partnership;
Act as a trusted financial partner to business leaders, providing insights that link operations to financial performance and drive margin improvement.

Financial Planning Excellence;
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accurate targets, strong follow up, and well documented assumptions.

Process Innovation & Data Quality;
Improve data quality and automate validation processes while driving continuous improvements across financial operations.

Commercial & Strategic Analysis;
Evaluate investments, pricing, and profitability, and support the CFO with high quality materials for boards and investors, telling a compelling financial story.

What You Bring

Core Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 5-8 years in business controlling, FP&A, or analytical finance roles; ideally in product-driven or tech environments
• Proven track record leading cross-functional improvement projects (think: ERP implementations, reporting automation, process redesigns)
• Deep understanding of accounting flows, data structures, and how business processes generate financial outcomes
• Advanced Excel mastery; you build elegant financial models that others trust
• Power BI fluency for data analysis and visualization (or equivalent BI platform experience)

Personal Attributes

• Intellectually curious; you ask "why" relentlessly and follow threads until patterns emerge
• Structured yet pragmatic; you balance rigor with speed, knowing when perfection matters and when "good enough" gets you there faster
• Comfortable with ambiguity; you thrive in environments where processes are still being defined
• Exceptional communicator in English (Norwegian is a strong plus.)
• Natural relationship builder who earns trust through competence, candor, and commercial insight
