Shore Excursion Dispatcher and Guide Coordinator

Nordic Gateway is a leading tour operator for cruise ships on the Norwegian market. We provide shore excursions to many cruise lines in the various destinations in Norway, and to further strengthen our team we are now looking for a shore excursion dispatcher for our calls in Tromsø.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Guide Coordinator and Dispatcher to manage and support our team of tour guides during cruise operations. A social and representative person with authority to establish and maintain order in situations that can be hectic and challenging.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

As a shore excursion dispatcher:

you will be acting as a company representative and be in charge of coordinating and supervising the shore excursion operations at the pier and reporting to the main office during the day when the ship is in port.

As a Guide Coordinator:

• Recruit, onboard, and maintain a reliable pool of professional tour guides
• Prepare and coordinate training programs for new guides
• Monitor guide availability for each cruise call and ensure proper staffing levels
• Assign guides to specific tours based on experience, language skills, and operational needs
• Act as the main point of contact for guides, answering questions and resolving concerns
• Communicate daily schedules, updates, and last-minute changes clearly and efficiently

 

Skills needed:

Excellent organizational & communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to last-minute changes.

Leadership, human resourcing, team worker, service-minded, ability to multitask, problem-solving.

Fluent in English, additional language(s) is an advantage. Good knowledge of Norwegian language is considered a plus.

Flexibility in working hours.

Previous experience in Tourism and Cruise Line industry is consider a plus.
