Role overview

We are looking for an experienced Project Completion Engineer – Utility to take responsibility for utility systems during the MC and Commissioning phases. The role involves leading and coordinating commissioning activities, ensuring system readiness, and supporting a continuous transition from project to operations.

You will work closely with multiple disciplines, suppliers, and contractors to ensure high-quality execution while maintaining a strong focus HSSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as System Responsible Engineer for utility systems.
• Review and verify documentation and drawings relevant to MC and commissioning.
• Provide engineering input and estimation for commissioning scope, onshore and offshore.
• Independently plan and execute MC follow-up and commissioning activities.
• Participate in MC punch-outs and factory acceptance tests (FATs) at supplier sites.
• Maintain progress updates and input data in the project completion system (PIMS).
• Develop, review, and implement commissioning procedures.
• Coordinate with departments and disciplines to ensure efficient execution of commissioning activities.
• Plan and execute ATS (acceptance test specifications) as needed.
• Manage contractor personnel and other resources helping in commissioning.
• Ensure availability of spare parts, special tools, and first fills prior to commissioning execution.
• Provide leadership to maintain high focus on health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Participate in discipline MC punch rounds for designated systems.
• Support pre-start-up and performance test reviews as necessary.
• Ensure continuous handover from project to operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in system commissioning within oil and gas projects, preferably on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
• System-based commissioning knowledge and experience.
• Experience with NORSOK standards and project completion systems. Experience with PIMS is an advantage.
• Ability to participate, lead, and motivate a team of commissioning engineers and technicians.
• Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledgeable in LEAN principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Fluent in English and Norwegian (written and spoken).
• Strong commitment to HSSE standards and use of SAFER principles in daily work.
