Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to support automation design activities during study and tendering phases for HVDC and HVAC offshore wind projects. The role involves defining, verifying, and developing automation and SAS/ICSS solutions in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients.

Main responsibilities

• Perform automation engineering and design for study and tendering phases in HVDC and HVAC offshore wind projects.
• Verify and review automation design from previous study phases.
• Define, specify, and design automation and SAS/ICSS systems.
• Develop automation philosophies, system topologies, I/O budgets, and system descriptions in accordance with company specifications, client standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Participate in and facilitate meetings, workshops, and technical reviews within the automation discipline.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Contribute to the development of automation solutions that may continue into FEED and EPC project phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in automation, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in automation engineering from greenfield oil and gas projects on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
• Minimum 6 years of experience with automation and SAS/ICSS system design and technical reviews.
• Experience from offshore wind projects is preferred.
• Experience from automation system design during study and/or FEED phases.
• Strong knowledge of automation design standards and regulations, including NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, DNVGL, and IEC.
• Cooperative working attitude and ability to perform in a multicultural team environment.
• Structured, systematic, and accurate working approach.
• High commitment to deadlines and quality standards.
• Proactive mindset, with willingness to seek guidance and share experience.
