The Company

Medistim ASA is the market leader in intraoperative transit-time flow measurement (TTFM) and high-frequency ultrasound imaging for the global surgical market. Our MiraQ system supports cardiac, vascular, and transplant surgery by providing surgeons with clinically relevant information during the procedure.

The company reported revenues of NOK 699.8 million in 2025. Medistim is headquartered in Oslo and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, with subsidiaries in the United States, Canada, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, and Denmark, and a distributor network covering more than 70 additional countries.

The Team

The External Innovation team works directly with surgeons worldwide to identify unmet clinical needs and turn them into prototypes that can be matured into products used in operating rooms. The team is based in Hasle, Oslo.

The Position

We are looking for a software engineer who is eager to learn, is comfortable across the stack, and able to choose the right tool for each problem. Specific technologies matter less than sound judgment and adaptability. Day-to-day tasks vary with the team’s current focus, but the two areas below are central to the role.

Prototyping and innovation

You will work closely with the Tech Lead, who sets the technical direction for innovation initiatives. Together you will:

  • Develop proof-of-concept applications and technical demos
  • Build pilot solutions for use by surgeons and clinical partners
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and apply them to new ideas
  • The Tech Lead will provide architectural guidance and support your development as you take on more complex work.

    Case Cloud

You will help maintain and develop Case Cloud, our cloud platform for data capture and collaboration in clinical studies. The platform supports global clinical partners and uses the source of high-quality data sets that inform future medical devices.

    Qualifications
    Required

  • Full-stack development experience in any modern languages
  • Working knowledge of data science, including machine learning
  • Sound judgment in selecting tools for a given problem
  • Clear written and spoken English
  • A curious and open mindset
  • Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure
  • An active interest in new tools, technologies, and trends
  • Experience in highly regulated industries
  • Knowledge of ultrasound
  • Education and experience

  • A relevant Master’s degree (MSc)
  • At least one year of relevant professional experience
  • What We Offer
  • Work on real problems in healthcare with direct impact on surgical outcomes
  • A multidisciplinary and experienced team
  • Influence on the technical direction of a leading Norwegian medtech company
  • Modern facilities including gym, change room, subsidized cantina and bike parking
  • If you have questions about the position please contact Ann-Cathrin Eidval, Senior Advisor at Medvind Personal, at 90916486 or ann-cathrin@medvindpersonal.no

Please send your application by May 31st.
