Senior Full-Stack Developer (local remote)

The role

To support our growth, we are now looking for a senior, hands-on full-stack developer to help build and evolve a browser-based 3D GIS / digital twin platform. This role carries high responsibility and requires strong autonomy, with real influence over architecture, technical direction, and product decisions. You’ll work closely with a small team and play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the product. You’ll have plenty of room to contribute ideas, make architectural choices, and work hands-on on a technically challenging product.

Required Profile

The ideal candidate has extensive experience delivering complex web applications and is comfortable working in small teams with limited technical redundancy.

• 7+ years professional web development experience

• Proven experience as a technical lead or senior developer with end-to-end ownership

• Comfortable with high ownership and architectural decision making

• Near full-time availability preferred. We are open to discussing different contract arrangements for the right candidate.

• Strong sense of responsibility and continuity

• Experience working with modern AI-assisted development tools (LLM's)

We are looking for the following skills:

Frontend and rendering

• Advanced experience with React and TypeScript

• Documented production experience with WebGL

• Experience with MapLibre GL JS or deck.gl, ideally combined with Three.js or similar frameworks

• Solid understanding of browser performance and rendering pipelines

Backend and data

• Strong Node.js competence

• Experience designing APIs (REST and/or GraphQL)

• Authentication and authorization systems

• Experience with PostgreSQL; PostGIS is a plus

• Familiarity with serverless and asynchronous systems

GIS

• Experience integrating GIS data and pipelines

• Knowledge of GeoJSON, vector and raster tiles, terrain data

• Understanding of coordinate reference systems and projections

Other considerations

• We expect the candidate to be organised and able to collaborative in a small, English-speaking team (fluent level expected).

• We also expect the candidate to make reasonable and effective use of modern AI tools (e.g. LLMs) to accelerate development and improve productivity.

• The position is remote-friendly. Ideally, the candidate is based in Norway, but we are open to strong applications from elsewhere. Several in-person workshops in Norway will be organised to allow the team to meet and collaborate in person.
