We are hiring: Senior Structural Engineer -- Engineering Solutions \& Software Development

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with a strong background in advanced structural mechanics and deep proven expertise in Finite Element Methods (FEM) . This is not just a technical role --- it is a chance to lead, inspire, and innovate.

As a senior member of our team, you will apply your skills to some of the most challenging engineering problems, while also helping to develop Øglænd System’s next generation of engineering services and software tools. You will collaborate closely with our engineers, present insights at management level, and engage directly with our customers.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, curious about software and programming, and confident in communicating complex ideas with clarity and impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead structural verifications using advanced Finite Element Methods andother numerical analysis such as Computer fluid dynamics.

• Creatively define new methodologies to perform Structural Assessment

• Leadership andHands-on Software Development forengineering applications

• Drive innovation in areas such as fatigue, vibration, material behavior, and fire design.

• Mentor colleagues and help raise the technical level of the engineering team.

• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and present results to senior management.

• Build strong relationships with customers, providing clear and reliable technical guidance.

• Contribute to the design and improvement of engineering software and data-driven tools.

• Work with our test lab to validate models, methods, and design solutions.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.

• 10+ years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design.

• Strong command of Finite Element Analysis (FEA/FEM) tools and methodologies.

• Computer Fluid Dynamics understanding (CFD)

• Familiarity with CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.).

• Strong Programming skills or Programming Enthusiast (Python, VBA, C#, JavaScript, or similar).

• Excellent communication skills --- able to explain complex topics in a clear and engaging way.

• Leadership qualities and experience guiding teams or projects.

• Proactive, collaborative, and enthusiastic about driving innovation.
