Omega Subsea is strengthening its newly established Engineering Department and is seeking an experienced Structural Lead to take ownership of deliverables across our project portfolio.

This role is central to building and governing the structural and fabrication discipline within the company. You will ensure high-quality engineering deliveries, strong subcontractor follow-up, and compliance with offshore standards, client specifications and contractual requirements.

Working closely with Project Managers, internal engineers and subcontractors, you will contribute both to ongoing project execution and to establishing structured engineering processes, templates and governing documentation.

The position is onshore based in Stavanger or Bergen (preferably Stavanger). Approximately 60 travel days per year should be expected in connection with supplier meetings, fabrication follow-up, mobilisations, audits and site visits.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and govern structural, fabrication and CAD engineering deliverables in assigned projects

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable regulations and Omega Subsea HSEQ standards

• Review and approve structural calculations for temporary and permanent works

• Review and approve fabrication drawings, weld details and manufacturing documentation

• Ensure CAD deliverables (GA, fabrication and installation drawings) meet client and project requirements

• Ensure compliance with DNV, NORSOK and other relevant offshore standards

• Follow up subcontractors delivering structural, fabrication and CAD services

• Support load-out, seafastening and installation engineering when required

• Participate in technical clarification meetings, risk assessments and HAZID/HAZOP activities

• Contribute to tender work and technical proposals

• Establish and maintain discipline procedures, templates and governing documents

• Actively contribute to building and developing the Engineering Department

Qualifications

• MSc or BSc in Structural, Mechanical, Marine, Subsea Engineering or relevant discipline

• 10--15 years’ experience with structural calculations, fabrication follow-up and CAD review within oil & gas or subsea

• Experience from a service provider or project-based organisation is preferred

• Discipline Lead experience is an advantage

• Strong understanding of offshore structural standards and fabrication requirements

• Experience with structural analysis software such as Sesam/GeniE, Ansys, STAAD or similar

• Proficient in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD tools

• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Norwegian is preferred
