About the job
The Adjunct Professor position has a full-time equivalence of 20 % and has a fixed term of up to 4 years.
The Adjunct Associate Professor in information systems engineering will be affiliated with the Department of Computer Science (IDI). The position is announced within the research area of the Information Systems and Human Computer Interaction unit (ISCHI).
From the perspective of this announcement, we define information systems engineering as “the development, evaluation, and improvement of the representations of systems that process information to support, control, or execute activities that stakeholders recognize and care about”. ISCHI is a newly formed group. The members are included in the wider IS-community at IDI, that in the recent national evaluation (EVALMIT) got top score on research and publication quality. Your immediate leader will be the unit leader of the ISCHI unit at the Department of Computer Science.

Duties of the position
ISCHI does teaching, research, dissemination and innovation along three interrelated pillars:
- ISE - information systems engineering
- IS - informations systems
- HCI, CSCW and service design
This position will be within the information systems engineering (ISE) area , with focus in particular on BPM, process modelling and enterprise modelling, utilizing AI and big data for data analytics in digital transformation.
The position includes contributing to current and future courses including in the ISE-pillar in particular TDT4175 – Information systems and TDT4252 – Enterprise Architecture and enterprise innovation. The Adjunct Associate Professor may also help with supervision of master and/or Ph.D. students.
Required selection criteria
The position of Adjunct Associate Professor within information systems engineering requires that you meet the criteria in the Regulations concerning appointment and promotion to teaching and research posts section 1-4.

You must document relevant basic competence in teaching and supervision at a university/higher education-level, as referenced in the NTNUs guidelines for academic positions. If this cannot be documented, you will be required to complete an approved course in university pedagogy within two years of commencement. NTNU offers qualifying courses.
Requirements for educational competence will depend on the employee's work tasks and responsibilities during the employment period. Those who carry out teaching tasks must have university pedagogical training equivalent to at least one Uniped module. Those who carry out supervision tasks must receive training/courses adapted to the relevant target group.

Salary and conditions
In a position as Adjunct Associate Profeesor (code 1011) you will normally be remunerated from gross NOK 690 000 - NOK 870 000 per year, corresponding with a 20% position, depending on qualifications and seniority. If you are eligible for membership at the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. Candidates who by assessment of the application and attachment are seen to conflict with the criteria in the latter law will be prohibited from recruitment to NTNU. It is important that you both document and reflect on your competence. You are encouraged to use the NTNUs competence matrix as a guide for documentation of your competence.
Joint work will also be considered. If it is difficult to identify your specific input to a joint project, you must include evidence of your contributions.
In the evaluation of which candidate is best qualified, emphasis will be placed on education, experience and personal and interpersonal qualities. Motivation, ambitions, and potential will also count in the assessment of the candidates.
NTNU is obliged by the evaluation criteria for research quality in accordance with The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment – DORA and The obligations in the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment ( CoARA) on responsible assessment of research and recognition of a wider range of academic contributions to science and society. This means that we will pay particular attention to the quality and academic range demonstrated by your scientific work to date. We will also pay attention to research leadership and participation in research projects. Your scientific work from the last five years will be given the most weight.
