As Geminor expands across nine European markets, we are building the internal capabilities to match our ambitions. The Legal Advisor is a newly created role – and a unique opportunity to be part of that journey from the ground up. You will be Geminor's first dedicated in-house legal resource, providing practical guidance, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, and helping the business grow with confidence across borders.

If you thrive in a fast-moving commercial environment, enjoy shaping a new function from the early stages, and want to make a tangible impact in a company at the heart of the green transition – we would like to hear from you.

You will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and work closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Management throughout the group.

This role can be based at our head office in Avaldsnes, Karmøy, or at our offices in Aarhus or Copenhagen. Geminor values physical presence to build a strong team culture and operational understanding, with some flexibility for remote work where relevant. The role can involve occasional travel to our local offices and clients across Europe.

Responsibilities and tasks

In the role of Legal Advisor, you will be Geminor's primary resource for legal matters across the Group. You will provide day-to-day legal guidance to commercial and operational teams, and help build structured legal processes that support sustainable growth. The role combines hands-on legal work with an opportunity to influence how Geminor manages legal risk as the business scales.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and quality-assuring commercial agreements, including customer contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, framework agreements, transport agreements, and cooperation agreements – with particular attention to balanced, back-to-back risk allocation across the value chain
  • providing practical legal advice and guidance to Sales, Operations, Finance, and Management on commercial, operational, and strategic matters
  • supporting and upskilling commercial and operational teams on contractual risk – helping non-legal colleagues understand what to look for in negotiations and what Geminor takes on
  • supporting implementation and follow-up of internal policies, governance structures, compliance routines, data protection, and regulatory requirements across Geminor entities
  • coordinating legal matters across countries and acting as a competent buyer of external legal services, aligning contractual practices and legal standards where local expertise is needed
  • developing contract templates, legal guidelines, and structured contract processes that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and support scalable business operations
  • identifying and assessing legal, financial, and operational risks connected to contracts and business activities, and advising on mitigation measures

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a solid legal foundation, strong commercial understanding, and the initiative to shape a new function in a dynamic, international environment. You bring a confident, credible presence in meetings with different cultures, leaders, and levels of seniority, communicate clearly and collaborate effectively, and approach legal challenges with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset – focused on enabling the business rather than only flagging obstacles. As Geminor's first in-house lawyer, you are comfortable working independently and building structure where little exists today.

We would also appreciate candidates with:

  • a Master of Laws or equivalent (e.g. a Master in Business Law)
  • 2–5 years of relevant legal experience that must include commercial/business law – ideally from a commercial law firm or an in-house legal function in an international company; candidates combining a structured public-sector background with solid commercial and contract experience are also of interest
  • a licensed attorney qualification is an advantage but not a requirement
  • solid understanding of contract law, commercial law, and corporate governance
  • strong skills in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
  • the ability to identify and communicate legal risk clearly and practically to non-legal stakeholders
  • fluency in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in a Scandinavian language is important
  • a structured, analytical, and proactive working style with high integrity, flexibility, and attention to detail

Why Geminor?

  • An exciting and important position in an international company with strong growth ambitions and a clear sense of purpose.
  • Geminor's business is at the heart of the green transition – every day, we contribute to a more sustainable society.
  • A newly created position where you have real influence over how the legal function is built and developed.
  • Work across borders with colleagues from multiple countries and cultures, and be part of an informal, high-energy environment.
  • Real ownership and a broad commercial mandate from day one – the variety and impact of commercial legal work, without the billable-hour treadmill of private practice.
  • Around 140 engaged colleagues in an international environment that values quality, efficiency, and a good sense of humour.
  • Competitive salary, excellent pension and insurance schemes, and a bonus programme equivalent to one month's salary.

Application deadline: 9 August 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply early.
