About the job
We are looking to employ a qualified and experienced secondary school mathematics/science teacher to join our International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) team.
This is a temporary, part-time position from August 2026 until July 2027.
The position is 40% mathematics and 20% science, with the possibility of an additional 40% supply teaching position.
Qualifications and experience
- A teaching qualification in mathematics and/or science . This qualification should be eligible for recognition by the Norwegian Higher Education Directorate (HKDir/NOKUT).
- An IB CAT1 certificate in MYP mathematics and/or MYP science is desirable
- English proficiency at B2, or higher.
- Experience teaching secondary students (age 11-17)
- Knowledge of, and experience with, the educational philosophies and practices of the IB, specifically relating to mathematical and science assessment in the MYP is desirable.
Skills and personal qualities
- IT literate and comfortable using a variety of digital platforms such as Office 365, Toddle and Classter.
- A thorough and up-to-date understanding of the best approaches to teaching for the age group 11-17
- The ability to plan, deliver and reflect on curriculum and lessons in a way which will stimulate, motivate and engage students' learning and agency
- The ability to ensure inclusion through universal design of lessons and differentiated instruction
- Employ strategies to empower learning in a diverse group of students
- The capability to instil confidence in students, and facilitate their understanding and application of mathematical and scientific concepts
- Outstanding collaboration skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Be organised and reliable
- Engage actively and enthusiastically to contribute to a positive school environment
