**As a HESS Director at Nammo,**you will report directly to the VP HESS and be part of the Group HESS leadership team, providing strategic leadership within your area of responsibility and contributing to the continued development of Health, Environment, Safety and Security across the Group. You will drive the implementation of HESS strategies, governance and continuous improvement initiatives while promoting a strong HESS culture and organizational learning. Working closely with business leaders, site teams and key stakeholders, you will build trust and collaborate across organizational boundaries to translate Group ambitions into practical improvements and lasting results.

As HESS Director Europe , you will serve as the strategic HESS partner for Nammo's European operations. Working closely with sites, business units and Corporate functions, you will turn Group ambitions into practical improvements by driving HESS performance, ensuring consistent implementation of Group standards, and supporting compliance and continuous improvement across the region.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Ensure adherence to Nammo’s HESS Policy within the European area of responsibility.
  • Follow up, support and develop HESS performance across European sites, legal entities and business units.
  • Collaborate with business units to support HESS targets and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with legal entities to ensure HESS compliance.
  • Coordinate HESS data gathering, validation and reporting between the European organization and Corporate.
  • Support sites and legal entities in establishing and improving integrated HESS management systems, aligned with recognized standards such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 22301.
  • Support relevant sites in meeting DCMA and customer-specific HESS requirements.
  • Follow up actions from corporate internal audits and risk surveys in collaboration with site HESS personnel.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate closely with Corporate functions, Business Units, site HESS teams and other key stakeholders to drive consistent HESS performance across Europe.
  • We believe you bring

    To succeed in this role, you will likely have:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline. Relevant professional experience may compensate for formal education.

    • Minimum five years of experience within HSE, quality, manufacturing or continuous improvement, preferably in an international industrial environment.

    • Experience working with management systems and internationally recognised standards, such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 22301.

    • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

    Experience from one or more of the following areas will be an advantage:
    • Defence, manufacturing or other highly regulated industries.

    • Energetic materials and process safety.

    • Project management.

    • Internal or external auditing.

    • Working across multiple countries and cultures.

    Location and travel
    The role involves extensive travel across Nammo's European operations (approximately 100+ travel days per year), with occasional travel to the US. For practical reasons, we expect you to be based within convenient travelling distance of both an international airport and a Nammo site.

    Security Clearance
    Please note that this position requires you to be eligible for a Norwegian/NATO security clearance and to provide a valid police certificate.
