About the roleAs Retail Operations Manager at Norrøna, you hold overall responsibility for developing and governing scalable, standardized retail operations across all stores. You ensure a single source of truth and consistent execution of processes, and act as the functional owner and super user of POS, time management, and other critical retail systems.
You have end-to-end accountability for retail operational processes, including buying, forecasting, replenishment, and product flow. You drive operational excellence by defining clear standards, ensuring disciplined implementation, and continuously optimizing performance across the retail organization.
The role plays a key part in strengthening profitability and enabling growth through automation, digitalization, and structured ways of working---maintaining premium quality while improving efficiency. The Retail Operations Manager will be part of Norrøna Head Quarter with all support functions centralized, and will report to the Retail Director.
Main responsibilities Retail Leadership and Store Operations- All documentation of processes in Retail
- That users know and execute the processes in retail
- Monitoring deviations from the processes
- Lead store management and ensure efficient, consistent, and high-quality operations across all stores
- Monitor performance and KPIs, driving actions that improve sales, service, and profitability
- Responsible for teaching the organisation how to execute processes and use systems
- Responsible for the retail operational handbook, covering all processes of retail operations
- Develop, document, and optimize routines, standards, and ways of working
- Drive change management and ensure successful implementation of initiatives (POS, reporting, scheduling, payment solutions and more)
- Work closely with Wholesale, Logistics, Accounting, HR, and Digital to deliver a unified retail operation
- Contribute to the development of retail strategy and long-term operational improvements
- Higher degree in business administration, retail management, supply chain management or finance
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within retail operations, supply chain, or business process management
- Proven experience in driving process improvements, standardization, and scalability in a multi-store environment
- Strong proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, payment solutions, and modern digital/AI-based tools
- Solid industry understanding and a genuine interest in retail, consumer behavior, and the outdoor industry
- Excellent communication skills in both Norwegian and English (required)
