Your mission

As Chief Accountant, you will have overall responsibility for accounting, reporting and financial management. The role reports to the Head of Finance & Controlling.

Key responsibilities

This role offers significant responsibility within a large, international company.

• Overall responsibility for ongoing bookkeeping, monthly and annual closing processes
• Prepare financial reports, budgets and forecasts for management and the board
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of VAT, employer's national insurance contributions and taxes
• Monitor liquidity and cash flow, providing ongoing recommendations to management
• Contribute to ensuring that internal control procedures are in place and kept up to date
• Serve as the primary point of contact with auditors, banks and public authorities
• Drive digitalisation and efficiency improvements within accounting processes
• Support management with analysis and decision-making materials
• Responsibility for payroll booking and reconciliation

What you bring

You will thrive in this role if you:

• Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance or auditing
• Are a State Authorised Public Accountant (or equivalent) - an advantage
• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position
• Have a solid understanding of Norwegian accounting legislation, NGAAP, tax regulations and IFRS
• Have experience with ERP systems such as Visma, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or Tripletex
• Are proficient in Excel; experience with BI tools such as Power BI is a plus
• Fluent in Norwegian is required to secure communication locally in the Norwegian organization.
