The role is central to live operational support, enabling high-quality decision-making and multidisciplinary engineering responses across drilling and well operations.

This position focuses on operational execution and hands-on technical problem solving, supporting offshore crews and operations in real time rather than project administration. You will work in a high-responsibility environment where your input directly contributes to safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 technical and engineering support to ongoing offshore operations on a rotational basis

  • Act as a multidisciplinary engineering resource supporting drilling, hydraulics, automation, and electrical systems

  • Support planning and execution of EDR services for active and upcoming operations

  • Communicate directly with offshore crews during live operations to ensure safe and efficient execution

  • Handle technical escalations and problem-solving in high-critical operational situations

  • Contribute to procedures, risk assessments, contingency planning, and method statements

  • Participate in pre-job meetings, planning sessions, risk reviews, and lessons learned activities

  • Monitor operational performance and provide input on efficiency, risks, and improvements

  • Capture, share, and implement lessons learned and best practices across the organization

  • Document troubleshooting activities and follow up after issue resolution

  • Contribute to peer reviews, technical alignment, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support development of training material for offshore operations and engineering personnel

  • Provide support to other departments within Enhanced Drilling when required

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Instrumentation, Automation, Cybernetics, Electrical Engineering, or related field

  • Equivalent technical education combined with relevant experience may also be considered

  • Master’s degree (MSc) in Electrical Engineering is an advantage

  • High Voltage certification is desirable

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Control Systems and/or Electrical Engineering

  • Several years of experience from offshore operational environments

  • Experience from drilling rigs and understanding of drilling operations and processes

  • Offshore operational experience and understanding of live operational conditions

  • Well Control knowledge is an advantage

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of systems such as VFDs, HV systems, transformers, cooling systems, pressurized equipment, Ex equipment, and subsea systems

  • Ability to work across disciplines and understand system interactions and dependencies

  • Comfortable supporting live operations and handling time-critical technical challenges

  • Proficiency in MS Office and common engineering tools

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

  • Confident working closely with offshore crews, customers, and internal technical teams

Personal Attributes

  • Structured and calm under pressure

  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility

  • Independent, with ability to make sound technical decisions

  • Comfortable in high-pressure and time-critical situations

  • Solution-oriented with a strong safety mindset

  • Service-minded and committed to high-quality delivery

HSE Responsibilities

  • Comply with all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

  • Actively participate in HSE training, safety meetings, and audits

  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses

  • Support a strong “Zero Harm” culture and demonstrate safety leadership

  • Stop unsafe work and escalate when required
