Care for Potential trainee program 26/27 -- join us!

Are you ready to take on real responsibility early in your career -- and develop into a future key player within one of Norway’s competitive circular businesses? Do you want to use your potential, drive results, and help develop smart solutions that contribute to a more sustainable society?

The Care for Potential Trainee Program is designed to fast-track ambitious graduates into key operational leadership roles. We are looking for high-potential individuals who combine business acumen with the drive to create measurable results -- and who want to build a long-term career within the Stena Metall Group, which Stena Recycling is a part of.

Apply for a trainee position at Stena Recycling AS.
As a Trainee at Stena Recycling, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your academic knowledge into hands-on experience, participate in relevant training programs, expand your professional network, and build valuable understanding of our operations and how we create impact. From day one, you will work with experienced colleagues in operations, sales and administration as a junior. The goal is clear -- after completing the 10-month program, you will receive training across various business areas, preparing you for a future leadership role.

The program starts in September 2026. We have two open positions, one in Oslo and one in Kristiansand. However, future positions could open up within the whole organization, therefore we are looking for people that are willing to move across the country.

What makes this program different?
At Stena Recycling, operations are at the core of our business. This is where profitability, sustainability, and customer value come together.

During the program, you will:

  • Combine structured training with real business responsibility. We will challenge you to unleash your full potential.
  • Participate in modules focused on operational excellence, financial performance, leadership, and sustainability.
  • Build an international network with trainees and colleagues across Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland and Italy.
  • Work directly with experienced managers who will mentor and challenge you.
  • Contribute to a company that plays a key role in accelerating the transition to a circular economy.

We offer permanent employment from day one and a market-based salary. Click here to learn more about the Program.

Qualifications
  • A degree in economics, business, industrial economics and technology management, marketing or related fields.
  • Up to two years of relevant full-time work experience after graduation.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and in English, both written and spoken.
  • The ability to work on-site in Kristiansand and Oslo, along with the flexibility and willingness to relocate within Norway. As an international organization, mobility is a key part of the trainee program and future career development.

But more importantly:

  • You are motivated by responsibility.
  • You enjoy being close to operations, where decisions have a direct impact.
  • You are curious and eager to learn.
  • You are comfortable taking initiative even when the path forward is not fully defined.
  • You combine analytical strength with the ability to turn ideas into practical action.
  • Clear ambitions to grow into a leadership role, combined with strong drive and engagement.
  • You build trust through strong interpersonal skills and understand that lasting results are created through collaboration and clear communication.

Application and recruitment process
We welcome your application no later than April 12th. The selection process consists of interviews, case studies, personality and ability assessments, and reference checks. If you have any questions throughout the process, you are welcome to contact the responsible recruiters:
