We are now looking for a commercially driven Sales Director, to be situated in either Norway or Sweden, leading our sales organization in Norway and drive new market growth across the Nordic region.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior commercial leader who thrives on building new business, expanding market presence, and leading high-impact sales initiatives within the banking and payments ecosystem.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to take ownership of Nexi’s commercial growth in Norway while playing a key role in our broader Nordic expansion strategy.

Historically, growth has been driven by strong relationships with existing customers. Now, we are accelerating our focus on new client acquisition and expanding our presence across the Nordic banking market.

As Sales Director, you will have the mandate to:

  • Expand Nexi’s footprint with new banks and financial institutions

  • Drive adoption of next-generation issuing and risk management solutions

  • Strengthen Nexi’s market presence in the Nordics

  • Build and lead a high-performing commercial team

You will operate at the intersection of strategy, leadership, and execution, helping banks modernize their payments capabilities and bring innovative services to market faster.

Your Main Responsibilities Customer & Account Leadership
  • Act as the senior commercial point of contact for key banking clients and strategic accounts.

  • Maintain and strengthen long-term relationships with banks and financial institutions.

  • Develop a deep understanding of clients’ strategies, operating environments, and future payments needs.

  • Lead complex commercial negotiations and manage strategic contracts and agreements.

  • Oversee the full sales lifecycle, from opportunity identification through to successful deal closure.

Sales and Commercial Strategy
  • Own sales targets, forecasting, and commercial performance for the Norwegian market.

  • Drive new client acquisition across the Nordic banking landscape.

  • Build and develop a strong pipeline of strategic opportunities with new customers.

  • Lead the commercialization of key offerings, including:

    • Nexi Ready-- enabling banks to launch card programs faster

    • Risk Management Solutions -- fraud prevention, disputes, and chargeback services

  • Develop pricing and commercial strategies aligned with growth objectives.

  • Monitor KPIs and continuously refine the go-to-market strategy.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead and develop a high-performing sales team.

  • Foster a strong commercial and performance-driven culture within the team.

  • Work closely with product, IT, finance, and operations to deliver successful client outcomes.

  • Collaborate with Nordic leadership to support broader regional growth initiatives.

Market Insight
  • Maintain strong awareness of the Nordic banking and payments landscape.

  • Track industry trends, regulatory developments, and technological innovation shaping digital payments.

  • Contribute insights to strengthen Nexi’s positioning across the Nordic region.

What Makes You a Great Fit

We’re looking for a commercially ambitious leader who enjoys building new business relationships and driving growth in complex markets.

Essential Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a sales leader in B2B technology, payments, fintech, or financial services.

  • Strong track record of winning new clients and expanding market presence.

  • Well-established network within the Nordic banking or financial services ecosystem.

  • Experience leading commercial teams and driving strategic sales initiatives.

  • Fluency in Norwegian and English.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Structured, data-driven, and results-oriented approach to sales leadership.

  • Experience selling into banks, financial institutions, or the payments ecosystem is highly desirable.
