Vard Design & Engineering is leading in development of advanced and specialized vessel designs. As our current Department Manager for Naval Architecture & Accommodation is moving on to new opportunities within VARD, we are looking for a leader who can further develop both our people and expertise.
You are an engaging and structured leader who builds strong teams and communicates clearly across disciplines. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for GA, deck outfitting & safety, topside integration, and accommodation scope, including noise and insulation.

So -- what are your skills?Duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for leading the department and ensuring strong delivery across projects, people and processes. You will play a key role in shaping both day-to-day operations and the long-term development of the department.
- Actively contribute to the management team and play a key role in executing company strategy and ambitions
- Ensure the right staffing and competence within the department to support projects, conceptual development and internal initiatives
- Overall personnel responsibility for the team, including development, performance and well-being
- Accountable for project execution and high-quality delivery within your discipline
- Contribute to strengthening quality through a structured and continuous improvement mindset, including developing and sharing best practices and knowledge across the organization.
- Lead project planning, budgeting and reporting
- Maintain and further develop partnerships and collaboration with other VARD entities, as well as with external partners, in an international environment.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, and act as a role model for VARD’s One Team culture
Qualifications
- Relevant higher education
- Experience from leadership roles is an advantage
- Experience from shipbuilding is beneficial
This employment may require a background check, or security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority.
