Marine Superintendent

The position will include following responsibilities and work activities:

Main roles and responsibilities for the position:

• Company resource on assigned Marine matters, such as: Navigation, Radio Communication, Stability, LSA, FiFi, etc.

• Day to day operation, maintenance and development of assigned section of the Company Management System.

• Follow up on regulatory compliance, industry best practice and lessons learnt, and to ensure assigned sections of the Company Management System is updated accordingly.

• Oversee that proper Risk Management processes are applied onboard and ashore, in accordance with established procedures.

• Monitor and follow up on Incident and Non-conformity reporting as required.

• Actively promote the company's HSE program and safety culture onboard and ashore.

• Visit/inspect UECC managed and operated ships, Conduct internal ISM & ISPS audits onboard managed ships.

• Prepare for, plan, monitor and follow up customer inspections as well as Port and Flag state controls.

• Provide onboard training in in HSEQ, MARPOL, SOLAS, navigation, operational, safety matters, etc.

Experience and competence requirements:

• Seagoing experience as Deck Officer.

• Marine Superintendent/HSEQ Superintendent experience.

• Good knowledge of relevant IMO regulations and codes (ISM,ISPS,SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.)

• ISM&ISPS Auditor.

• Fluent in English -- spoken and written (working language is English).

• Good communication and organizational skills: Tactful and diplomatic.

• The position is based in Oslo, Norway.
