Vessel IT Manager \| OSM Thome Norway

Are you an IT professional with a passion for maritime operations and digital systems at sea? Join OSM Thome Norway and play a key role in supporting and developing IT and communication systems across our global fleet and onshore organization. As Vessel & Office IT Manager, you will work closely with vessel operations, fleet teams, and office stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure, and future‑ready IT solutions that enable safe and efficient maritime operations. This role may be located at our Arendal or Bergen office, depending on the candidate’s preference.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement plans supporting vessel-related and office IT operations

• Manage vendors delivering vessel IT and communication services

• Establish and maintain IT guidelines for onshore and offshore environments

• Provide IT support and training to office personnel and vessel crew

• Lead procurement, upgrades, and life-cycle planning for IT systems

• Initiate and manage IT projects aligned with company strategy

• Ensure compliance with IT standards, cyber security, and data protection

• Collaborate with Vessel Managers, Fleet Teams, and Group IT

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or Marine Engineering, however fresh graduates in Marine Engineering are encouraged to apply

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience

• Knowledge of vessel IT systems and maritime communications

• Experience with Microsoft technologies (M365, Azure, Windows Server)

Preferred Experience:

• Background supporting fleet or vessel operations

• Experience onboard vessels

• Interest in AI, automation, or digitalization
