Senior R\&D engineer / manager

Aragon is searching for a candidate having process engineering or chemical engineering education (or equivalent work experience) , and which possesses experience with practical IP work, in particular work related to all phases of patent applications (drafting, prosecution process). For example, based on involvement with patent application processes with an applicant (e.g. a company applying for patent), or working as a patent attorney or other relevant position within a patent attorney bureau, or relevant position within a patent office.

The candidate must possess an interest to work with patent applications and necessary work as part of prosecution of pending patent applications, and will in addition, depending on experience and skills, have the possibility to be involved with other technology development, design and engineering activities in Aragon. Depending on experience/skills, the position may also lead to a position as group/team manager within technology development/IP/R&D.

Position/work tasks in Aragon

The candidate will become responsible for patent application work within Aragon, the work will involve

• drafting patent applications or input to patent applications (specification, figures, claims) in cooperation with the inventor(s) and our Patent Attorney

• developing input to Patent Attorney for responses to Office Actions during examination of patent applications, work to be done in dialogue with Patent Attorney and inventor(s)

• be main point of contact with our Patent Attorney Bureau

Aragon is using Patent Attorneys for patent applications and prosecution of patent applications. However, patent application processes will inevitably result in significant work for applicant/inventor in all phases of a patent application.

It is not expected that IP/patenting tasks will be a full-time job (expected around 50%, full time in periods), hence the candidate will become involved in other activities in Aragon. Depending on background, experience and personal interests, this may include

• working as a process engineer in the technology/concept group

• taking part in technology development and inventive processes in Aragon

Depending on experience and skills, the position may also include (or later include):

• leading technology development work in the technology development group

• leading a technology group

• manager/group responsibility

• IP responsible/manager

Background

The ideal candidate

• is educated in process engineer/chemical engineering, or possesses equivalent work experience

• has minimum 3-5 years work experience, from which at least part of the time has been related to patent work, including both drafting process and prosecution part
