DeepOcean is growing within Offshore Renewables and is seeking a Senior Tender Manager to drive our tender activities across inter‑array cable lay, trenching, cable repair and seabed intervention projects. The position can be based in Aberdeen, Oslo, Haugesund or Stavanger. In this role, you will play a key part in securing new work and strengthening our commercial position in a rapidly developing renewable energy market.
With more than 25 years of experience delivering subsea infrastructure services, technologies and solutions, DeepOcean is a recognised leader in the offshore energy industry. To further expand DeepOcean’s offering in the Offshore Renewable segment, together with our alliance Windstaller (Aker Solutions, DeepOcean and Solstad Offshore), we are looking to strengthen our Commercial Team.
About the Role
As Senior Tender Manager, you will have full responsibility for managing specific pre‑qualifications and tenders — from initial strategy development to contract signing. You will lead a cross‑disciplinary tender team, ensure high‑quality commercial and technical deliverables, maintain close dialogue with clients, and provide strategic insight to senior management. This is a key role for a commercially driven leader who thrives in a dynamic environment with high strategic impact.
- Overall responsible for specific pre-qualifications and tenders and ensure same is planned, progressed and completed in an efficient manner.
- Manage the tender team and delegate responsibilities for tender input in the organization.
- Single point of contact for clients and management during the various phases of the tendering process from pre-qualification phase until signing of the contract.
- Ensure that technical, commercial, and contractual offerings are sound and in accordance with our procedure as well as reflecting the risk level of the tendered project.
- Identify differentiators, winning criteria and promote “outside the box” thinking to enhance likelihood of securing the work. Maintain close cooperation with technical and innovation team.
- Develop tender strategy based on Company strategy, pricing level, risk and opportunities and present same to representatives of senior management in tender board.
- Maintain regular communication with clients through the tender process to ensure their requirements are being delivered and their expectations are met.
- Participate in clarification meetings and contract negotiations with clients.
- Conduct handover with project team and follow up/support during project execution to ensure feedback/lesson learned and develop opportunities that may arise during project.
- Foster a culture of commercial mindset, risk mitigation and optimisation of opportunity.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferably within industrial economics, economics, business- and/or contractual administration or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years working experience from contract and commercial management or from a similar role within the renewables sector and/or oil & gas sector.
- Strong commercial mindset and contractual understanding, with a good knowledge of legal concepts relevant to the industry.
- Experience with relevant contract standards such as NTK, NS, FIDIC and/ or BIMCO is an advantage.
- Ability to effectively negotiate, along with high professional standards of written and spoken English are essential for the role.
- Subsea industry experience and/or technical understanding may be an advantage, but not a requirement.

- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to guide and motivate multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Strong time management skills and ability to set and meet tight deadlines.
- Skilled in coordination, organisation and stakeholder collaboration, with the ability to achieve alignment on key issues.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently as an individual as well as part of a multi-disciplined team. Possess an eye for detail with the ability to produce work of a high standard and accuracy.
