Engineering Director

Lead and develop the engineering organisation behind complex subsea operations

At Reach Subsea, we deliver advanced subsea services supporting offshore energy, infrastructure and marine operations worldwide.

As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are strengthening our technical leadership and are now looking for an Engineering Director to further develop and lead our engineering organisation.

The position is intended to be based at our office in Haugesund , but for the right candidate Stavanger, Bergen, Oslo or Aberdeen may also be considered. In this role, you will work closely with executive management to help ensure strong technical delivery across the company’s subsea projects.

About the role

As Engineering Director, you will coordinate engineering priorities, support project execution and ensure effective collaboration across the engineering organisation.

Reporting to the COO, you will lead and develop a team of Engineering Managers and engineers, while also acting as a key advisor to executive management on engineering-related matters.

The role requires a combination of technical understanding, leadership capability and the ability to ensure that engineering resources are effectively utilised across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee engineering activities in cooperation with the Engineering Managers
• Maintain and further develop engineering procedures, processes and documentation
• Lead and develop the team of Engineering Managers and Engineers in line with company strategy
• Advise and report to executive management on engineering-related matters
• Support and coach team members across the Engineering department
• Ensure effective utilisation of engineering resources across projects
• Ensure project deliveries meet client requirements, legislation and relevant industry standards

Qualifications

• BSc or higher within Subsea Engineering, Marine/Naval Engineering or a related discipline
• Alternatively, extensive relevant experience combined with relevant education or training may compensate for formal qualifications

Skills & experience

• Proven leadership capability
• Strong negotiation, time management, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of engineering management, subsea standards and applicable legislation
• Understanding of offshore operations and subsea engineering
