About the role

In the Digital Customer Platforms team at Laerdal, we shape how customers around the world discover, buy, and use products and services that help save lives. Through our global e‑commerce platform on laerdal.com, we deliver scalable, secure, and increasingly AI‑supported digital solutions across more than 25 markets.
As Engineering Manager, based in Stavanger, you will lead a great team of software engineers working on business‑critical platforms with real societal impact. You’ll balance people leadership with technical insight, creating an environment where collaboration, learning, and long‑term product sustainability come first. Your role is to help teams succeed---today and over time---while continuously improving how we build and evolve our digital solutions.
Our technology landscape is modern and evolving, with C#/.NET on Azure at the core and React and Vue.js on the frontend. Experience with our stack is valuable, but we especially welcome leaders with strong fundamentals in cloud technologies, APIs, and product‑focused software development, who are curious about how AI can be applied responsibly and meaningfully.

About the role

As Engineering Manager, based in Stavanger, you will lead a team of skilled software engineers working on a modern, secure, and business‑critical digital platform.
This role combines:

• People leadership -- creating a safe, motivating environment where engineers can grow

• Technical leadership -- helping teams make sound architectural and engineering decisions

You will work closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to shape priorities, manage trade‑offs, and continuously improve how we deliver value.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and support a team of software engineers, with focus on growth, feedback, and trust

• Guide technical decision‑making around architecture, performance, scalability, and security

• Collaborate closely with Product and Design on roadmap, priorities, and execution

• Drive healthy software development practices across planning, development, testing, and deployment

• Balance delivery needs with technical improvements and responsible handling of tech debt

Our technology landscape

Our stack continues to evolve. Today, we mainly work with:

• C# / .NET on Microsoft Azure

• React and Vue.js on the frontend

• APIs, cloud services, and modern web architectures

Experience with these technologies is useful, but sound engineering judgement, curiosity, and leadership mindset matter most.
