About the role
 

We are seeking an experienced Project Completion Engineer – Electrical (High Voltage) to support construction and commissioning activities for major projects. You will be responsible for ensuring safe execution, high-quality commissioning, and seamless handover of electrical systems according to project demands and governing documents.

You will work closely with contractors, operations, and project teams to verify installation quality, lead commissioning processes, and maintain safety standards in line with PfS objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain safe working routines throughout construction and commissioning.
• Ensure all work complies with PfS safety regulations and supports project objectives of zero incidents.
• Ensure contractor personnel hold obligatory certifications for work on or near HV apparatus.

• Review contractor installation procedures for electrical equipment.
• Participate in establishing the contractor’s commissioning team, ensuring sufficient competence and capacity.
• Review and prepare commissioning procedures for assigned systems.
• Issue and maintain commissioning boundary documentation to support efficient project execution.
• Lead commissioning activities across all phases, ensuring safe and efficient performance.
• Participate in MC verification and support the transition to commissioning.
• Follow up punch items, documentation, and clearance in the field.
• Ensure drawings and documents are updated with all commissioning-related changes and help with as-built updates.

• Support training and competence development within the commissioning organization.
• Maintain strong communication and collaboration with contractors and operations.
• Participate in engineering and construction meetings to ensure alignment with commissioning needs.
• Identify risks and opportunities related to construction and commissioning work.

• Evaluate and verify commissioning procedures and work instructions.
• Recommend commissioning SPIR and needed temporary equipment.
• Lead and prepare handover to operations, including issuing RFOC (ready for operation certificates).
• Contribute to developing strategies, schedules, procedures, FAT/UFAT activities, and risk assessments.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with governing documents.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent education.
• Extensive experience with electrical systems in oil and gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of FEF, FSE, and relevant governing documentation.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to handle high workloads and drive progress.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to ensure quality execution and meet schedule commitments.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English.
