Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Heat Trace Engineer to support a major greenfield project. The role focuses on designing, calculating, and overseeing heat trace systems for offshore and onshore facilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international standards. The engineer will also coordinate across disciplines and contribute to the engineering register for heat trace systems.

Main responsibilities

• Calculate, select, and oversee heat trace cable design in line with project standards.
• Design and follow up on heat trace systems per P&IDs and project specifications.
• Input, update, and maintain heat trace engineering registers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and ensure coordination between fabrication and engineering teams.
• Interface with other disciplines to ensure compliant, reliable, and safe heat tracing solutions.
• Support project execution while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Technical College diploma with at least 12 years of relevant experience in onshore and offshore facilities.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in design and calculation of electrical heat trace systems for offshore projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, and IEC.
• Familiarity with Aveva E3D and NavisWorks.
• EX course, if not already certified, must complete upon start.
• FSE course including first aid.
• Cooperative, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently.
• Systematic, accurate, and proactive with high commitment to deadlines and quality.
• Experience working in multicultural teams.
• Full professional proficiency in English and Norwegian.
