Join us at the intersection of product, tech, and team leadership. At Schibsted, we’re rethinking how advertising technology supports independent journalism, and we’re looking for someone who thrives on both product strategy and enabling great teams. This is a high-impact role with a clear business mission: helping our publisher brands maximise revenue through innovative and reliable advertising solutions.
Schibsted Marketing Services connects advertisers and users across some of the largest media brands in the Nordics. Our Advertising Technology team manages partnerships with leading adtech vendors, ensures platform stability, and drives innovation in how ads are delivered.
We work closely with our publisher brands, like VG, Aftenposten, Aftonbladet and SVD to evolve the platforms and products that power our advertising ecosystem. Now, we’re hiring a Technical Product Manager to lead a team of skilled developers and take our ad inventory products, such as display, native and video, to the next level.
What you will doIn this role, you will combine product leadership, technical insight, and people management.
- Lead and support a motivated team of developers and work closely with a dedicated tech lead.
- Help shape the team roadmap, balancing technical improvement with business value.
- Play a key role in ensuring Schibsted’s publisher brands maximise their advertising revenues through high performing advertising solutions.
- Ensure developers understand the why behind their work and how it impacts publishers, advertisers, and users.
- Act as the key bridge between your team and stakeholders across Schibsted.
- Drive continuous improvement in how we deliver, collaborate, and innovate.
This is a high-impact role where your work directly contributes to the advertising revenues that power Schibsted’s leading media brands. You’ll join a modern, collaborative team working with cutting-edge adtech, and help shape how advertising drives business results. At Schibsted, innovation and journalism go hand in hand, and your work will help support both.
At Schibsted, we offer:- A modern and dynamic working environment
- An office-first work culture, with spaces in Oslo or Stockholm
- A supportive, inclusive team culture
- Opportunities for personal and professional development
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- A chance to contribute to products that support quality journalism and public value
Whether you come from a technical leadership background with a strong interest in product, or you're a product manager who thrives working with engineers, we care more about how you lead and deliver than what your previous title was.
It's most important to us that you are motivated by developing products and people, and you want to empower teams to work more strategically and proactively.
What you bring- Experience supporting or leading teams and a genuine interest in helping others grow.
- Solid understanding of software development and digital platforms.
- Experience managing delivery, stakeholders, and risks.
- A proactive, result-driven, and collaborative mindset.
- A strong grasp of business needs and a mindset focused on problem-solving and spotting opportunities
- Experience in advertising technology is a strong plus, but not a must.
Not sure you meet 100% of the requirements? That’s okay, we’d still love to hear from you. We value potential and mindset just as much as experience.
Valid work permit is required.Om bedriften
Independent Journalism -- That’s our business
Schibsted Media Group includes some of the strongest media brands in the Nordics, including VG, Aftenposten, E24, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad, Aftonbladet, Svenska Dagbladet, Omni, and Podme.
Every day, nearly seven million people turn to our editorial media to stay informed, engaged, and entertained through text, audio, images, and video. The trust of our users is crucial to us. To maintain this trust, we prioritise truth, verifiability, and transparency.
Our 2,800 employees are based in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, Stockholm, Helsinki, Krakow, and Gdansk. We rely on all of them to succeed, through close collaboration across editorial teams, product and technology environments, and subscription and advertising units.
What began as Christian Schibsted's small printing business in Christiania (now Oslo) in 1839 has grown into one of the leading media companies in the Nordics. For nearly two centuries, our journalism has empowered people, built communities, exposed abuses of power, and strengthened democracies. Our democracies depend on independent journalism. That’s our business.
