We are looking for motivated and dedicated individuals who are ready for new challenges and would like to work at one of Norway's most renowned seafood restaurants.
We are currently seeking chefs to join our team during the high season, from April to September/October. Our ideal candidates have a genuine passion for food, are well-organised, work in a structured manner, collaborate well with others, and are eager to work with high-quality ingredients of the finest standard.
We are hiring chefs for both full-time and part-time positions.
Our cuisine is inspired by daily weather conditions and seasonal seafood. The dishes are prepared using innovative cooking techniques and a true passion for seafood. At Cornelius, the quality of the ingredients is our main focus, and the menu changes daily depending on the availability of fresh produce.

Create inspiring and memorable culinary experiences.

Be part of our kitchen team, with a strong focus on producing and presenting food of the highest quality, while proudly representing the culinary profession.

Contribute to inspiring and motivating colleagues within the kitchen team.
Qualifications
-
Trade certificate as a chef and strong professional expertise.
Relevant experience may compensate for the lack of a formal trade certificate. -
Good knowledge of food safety regulations (IK-mat).

Ability to work in a structured and efficient manner, both independently and as part of a team.

Preference will be given to applicants who speak a Scandinavian language. Applicants must also be able to communicate in English.

Meeting point in Katlavika / Vestrepollsvegen on Bjorøy, with onward transport to Holmen by staff boat (3 minutes).

A dinner at Cornelius Seafood Restaurant, located on a small island just outside Bergen, is an experience that combines nature, seafood, and atmosphere at one of Norway's most distinctive dining destinations.
Only a 25-minute boat ride from Bergen city centre, the restaurant is situated on a small islet in the archipelago. Here, the weather and the sea set the conditions for the kitchen. Our menu -- known as the meteorological menus -- follows the seasons and always features exceptionally fresh seafood, carefully adapted to the day's conditions.
Cornelius is open all year round. During fine summer weather, the sliding doors are opened and tables are set along the quay, offering a lighter menu served outdoors. In rougher weather, we create a warm and intimate indoor atmosphere with richer flavours, a crackling fireplace, and candlelight.
Each season -- and every single day -- offers unique and exciting culinary experiences on the island.
