Job description
A funded 3-year PhD-position in cardiovascular research is available in the Cardiovascular Research Group led by Professor Torbjørn Omland at Campus Akershus University Hospital (Campus Ahus), Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, Norway.
The Cardiovascular Research Group is a highly recognized international research group within the research fields of cardiovascular biomarker research and cardio-oncology. The PhD candidate will be funded by the K. G. Jebsen Centre for Cardiac Biomarkers for a 3-year PhD position. The candidate will be involved in studies related to cardiac biomarkers.
Qualification requirements
The ideal candidate demonstrates previous academic experience in cardiac troponin research combined with education as a medical doctor.
Qualification requirements- To be admitted to the PhD programmes at the University of Oslo, an applicant must have a five year master's degree or equivalent studies that have been recognised by the faculty as forming a sufficient basis for admission.

- To be employed as a PhD Research Fellow, admission to a doctoral program is required, or there must be a binding agreement for admission. Normally, one must apply for admission to a Ph.D. program within 3 months after the start of the research project leading to the Ph.D. degree.
- Good written and oral proficiency in English and Norwegian
- Medical doctor degree
- Knowledge of and interest in clinical cardiac biomarker research
- Previous experience with and publications in the field of of cardiac troponin research

- Salary in position as Doctoral Research Fellow, position code 1017 in salary range from NOK 551 000 - to NOK 605 000, depending on competence and experience. For particularly well-qualified candidates, a higher salary may be considered. From the salary, 2 percent is deducted in statutory contributions to the State Pension Fund.
