HSEQ Specialist

We are seeking an additional HSEQ Specialist to join our team in Klepp, Norway. As part of our commitment to operational excellence, we are proud to be ISO 9001 certified and are currently implementing ISO 45001. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving this important implementation forward.

About the position

AKVA group Land Based is investing aggressively in sustainable land-based aquaculture solutions and is seeking a HSEQ Specialist to support project teams in meeting HSEQ requirements and monitor HSEQ across our Land Based operations.

You will work closely with project management to develop and implement Quality Management and HSE plans, integrate sub-contractor processes, and foster a strong HSEQ culture. Together with the team you will be instrumental in our ISO 45001 implementation, helping to shape our management systems and ensure compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with process owners to ensure ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 compliance in their processes and procedures
• Play a central role in the implementation of ISO 45001
• Develop and manage project-specific Quality Management and HSE plans
• Configure and oversee project platform systems for sub-contractor use (HSEQ-related)
• Review and consult on sub-contractor documentation to ensure alignment with project standards
• Manage Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) within project systems
• Monitor compliance according to the Land Based Project Execution Model
• Conduct HSEQ awareness sessions and training
• Compile and report Health and Safety KPIs monthly
• Facilitate risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses
• Support and implement quality measures, improvements, and corrective actions
• Evaluate and audit suppliers and vendors from an HSEQ perspective
• Participate in internal and external audits

Your profile

• Engineering or technical background
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a coordinating HSEQ, engineering, or quality assurance role
• Internal auditor certification for ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 (ISO 14001 is an advantage)
• Experience in project-based organizations
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Fluent English (spoken and written); Norwegian and Spanish language skills are an advantage
• Strong cooperation, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Structured, and detail-oriented approach

Other information

• Residence in Rogaland or surrounding areas is expected
• Travel: 60--90 days per year must be expected
