Head of HVAC / Technical HVAC Manager (English)

Do you want to be responsible for the core of a data centre's technical infrastructure? We are looking for a Head of HVAC / Technical HVAC Manager who will lead the operation, quality, and development of critical cooling and climate systems.

This is an environment where temperature control, energy efficiency, and stable operations are absolutely essential. In modern data centres, this includes systems such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, ventilation systems, and associated control systems.

About the role
Salary: NOK 1.1 to 1.7 million, depending on competence and experience

As a Head of HVAC / Technical HVAC Manager, you will have a key role in following up technical systems from installation and commissioning through to operation, maintenance, and continuous improvements.
You will work closely with the electrical lead, operations team, suppliers, and the client to ensure stable capacity, efficient operations, and safe delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up the daily operation of cooling and ventilation systems in the data centre
• Ensure high uptime and stable cooling in a high demand environment
• Plan and follow up maintenance, inspections, and required corrective actions
• Act as the technical point of contact for deviations and operational challenges
• Lead and follow up technicians and suppliers with a focus on HSE, quality, and documentation
• Participate in troubleshooting and improvement work to reduce risk and improve performance
• Contribute to upgrades, testing, and handover of technical systems
• Ensure proper documentation and structure in technical systems

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a clear and hands-on leader who understands the relationship between cooling, energy performance, maintenance, and risk. You work in a structured way, make good decisions, and create progress in an environment where stable operations are critical.

Qualifications

• Education in HVAC, energy, mechanical engineering, or similar is preferred
• A trade certificate combined with technical college or solid experience may be relevant
• Experience with technical systems, cooling installations, or operation of buildings or data centres is an advantage
• Good understanding of cooling systems, ventilation, and technical control systems
• F-gas certification is an advantage if the role involves work on refrigeration systems
• Experience with HSE, risk assessments, and supplier management is important
• Knowledge of data centres or similar technical environments is an advantage
• Good communication skills in Norwegian and/or English
