About the job

BISS Gausel has a vacancy for a supply teacher/vikarlærer (86%, school term-time only) to deliver pre-planned lessons covering staff absences.
The position is available from January 2026 until July 2026, with the possibility of extension. The position is in the secondary department (ungdomsavdeling). 

You will work as a part of a motivated teaching team and are expected to be flexible and support other teachers and students when needed, and help with other activities within the role of a teacher.

Qualifications and experience

Minimum education and experience:

  • HKDir/NOKUT approved teaching qualifications for secondary school/grunnskole
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and oral (minimum B2)
  • Some knowledge of the Norwegian language
  • The ability to use ICT to support and enhance learning within the classroom
  • The ability to differentiate learning in the classroom
  • Experience working with students aged 11-16, either as a teacher or as a teaching assistant
  • Experience teaching maths and science is desirable
  • Experience or knowledge of IB programmes is desirable
