Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Principal Marine Engineer to take a leading role in marine engineering activities across major projects. The position involves discipline responsibility, close coordination with transport and installation (T&I) contractors, and extensive interface management with internal and external stakeholders. This role is well suited for a senior marine professional with strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive mindset.

Main responsibilities

• Perform marine engineering and marine operations activities within projects.
• Act as Discipline Responsible Engineer (DRE) for the marine discipline, including coordination and area responsibility.
• Manage interfaces with transport and installation (T&I) contractors.
• Coordinate marine scope with fabrication yards and project teams.
• Arrange and lead internal meetings, client meetings, workshops, and technical reviews.
• Interface with internal engineering teams, other disciplines, clients, and suppliers.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of methods, solutions, and use of digital tools within marine engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in marine engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in marine engineering and/or marine operations design from greenfield or brownfield projects, or offshore wind projects.
• Strong knowledge of marine engineering and operations in accordance with relevant standards, including NORSOK and DNV.
• Cooperative working attitude with the ability to function effectively in a multicultural team environment.
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Systematic and accurate work approach with high commitment to quality and deadlines.
• Proactive mindset, seeking advice when needed and sharing experience with others.
• Innovative and improvement-oriented, with interest in leveraging digital tools to enhance methodologies and solutions.
