Neurobiological Laboratory, Department of Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, The Neurology Department, St. Olavs Hospital
The Neurobiological Laboratory lead by Associate Professor Katja Scheffler is looking for a motivated postdoctoral fellow/researcher who is passionate about bridging clinical and basic research in neuroscience.
Our lab investigates novel molecular mechanisms of genome regulation that play a critical role in brain function. A key focus of our work is to identify new diagnostic tools and therapeutic interventions for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease (AD).
As a successful candidate, you will be working on optimizing human organoids to model neurodegenerative diseases and better understanding disease mechanism by multi-omics analysis. This includes but is not limited to generating organoids from patient-derived iPSCs, extraction and processing of nucleic acids and proteins, confocal imaging, and bioinformatics for interpretation and integration of single-cell transcriptomics and epigenomic datasets.
The project will be in close collaboration with Prof. Magnar Bjørås and his recent start up Zenit Science.
The period of employment for the position is 2 years, starting as soon as possible.
