Introduction
Skarv Technologies is entering a new phase of industrial scale-up. As demand for our autonomous underwater vehicles grows, we are reinforcing our production organization with additional technical capacity. Our production environment is one where mechanical reliability, electrical integrity, and system robustness are critical to mission success. Delivering hardware that functions flawlessly under harsh subsea conditions requires disciplined execution, thorough testing, and seamless coordination across engineering, production, and field operations.
We are now looking for a Production Lead to take ownership of our autonomous underwater vehicle manufacturing - accountable for the production schedule, output quality, and the documented procedures that let us scale. This is a hands-on role: you lead a small production team while building vehicles alongside them.
Role Overview
As Production Lead, you hold responsibility for the production of our autonomous underwater vehicles - from planning and scheduling through assembly, verification, and delivery. You own the production plan and drive output against committed timelines, while remaining hands-on in the build itself. You also own the production procedures and documentation that make our process repeatable and quality-assured, and you ensure that both in-house work and third-party components meet our standards. You work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to turn designs into manufacturable products, and you set the standards the team works to.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own the AUV production schedule: plan capacity, sequence work, and deliver against committed timelines.
-
Take overall responsibility for production output, quality, and on-time delivery.
-
Develop, document, and maintain production procedures, work instructions, and assembly records.
-
Ensure that quality assurance and incoming inspection of third-party components are performed.
-
Coordinate work within the production team and guide day-to-day priorities in the workshop.
-
Drive design-for-manufacture and continuous improvement of production methods.
-
Own workshop organization, safety performance, and operational standards.
-
Work hands-on in assembly of pressure-rated structures, electro-mechanical subassemblies, and sensor modules.
-
Perform and oversee electrical wiring, harness integration, and system-level cabling.
-
Ensure that 3D-printers are operated and maintained optimally in accordance with production schedule.
-
Participation in field testing in the Trondheim fjord as well as participation in field surveys nationally and internationally.
-
Some traveling may be expected.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a hands-on production leader who takes responsibility for long term goals while staying close to the building process. You combine planning and coordination ability with practical engineering skill, and you bring the discipline to document procedures clearly so the process stays consistent and repeatable. High standards in quality and safety are a given.

Experience assembling electro-mechanical systems.
-
Experience leading or coordinating a production process, schedule, or workshop.
-
Strong documentation skills: writing work instructions, procedures, and assembly records.
-
Experience with quality assurance and inspection of components or supplied parts.
-
Experience with measurement tools, tolerance checks, and quality control.
-
Technical certificate, vocational qualification, or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Relevant experience may substitute formal education.
-
Basic understanding of electronics and electrical interfaces.
-
Familiarity with subsea, pressure-rated, or ruggedized equipment is beneficial.
-
Experience with Odoo Manufacturing software is an advantage.
-
Experience with Linux-based operating systems and embedded devices is a plus.
-
Practical, proactive, and solution-oriented.
-
Takes ownership and drives deliveries under time pressure.
-
Accurate, well-organized, and disciplined about documentation.
-
Strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.
-
Communicates clearly in Norwegian and/or English.
Security Requirement: Eligibility for clearance through the Norwegian National Security Authority.
