Seaonics is strengthening its Concept & Solutions team and is looking for a Concept Engineer with special focus on crane applications to join us. The role is central in developing robust, compliant, and competitive technical solutions in close collaboration with Sales - particularly in early project and tender phases.
You will work with mission-critical handling equipment for specialized vessels, where technical quality, operational performance, regulatory compliance, and cost competitiveness are all essential. In Concept & Solutions, you will be at the forefront of developing advanced offshore and maritime equipment, working closely with a highly experienced and multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to influence technical solutions in the early project phases where your impact matters most, while contributing directly to both technology development and commercial success.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop technical concepts and solutions in collaboration with Sales and C&S team
- Take a leading technical role in sales projects, coordinating and aligning technical resources as required
- Participate in tender and early-phase project work towards customers
- Present technical solutions and their benefits in customer meetings
- Perform engineering calculations to validate concepts and key design decisions
- Carry out 2D and 3D modelling as part of concept development
- Analyze load handling challenges and operational requirements
- Prepare and contribute to cost calculations, ensuring realistic and competitive solutions
- Ensure that solutions are in line with applicable standards, regulations, and class requirements
- Participate in exhibitions and seminars, and stay updated on market trends and competitor landscape
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Marine, Offshore, or similar)
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience, preferably within offshore, marine, or handling equipment
- Experience with engineering calculations and technical evaluations
- Experience with 2D and 3D design/modelling tools
- Experience in leading or coordinating technical work in projects is beneficial
- Working knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (e.g. DNV or similar)
This employment may require a background check, or security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority.
