Job Description:

The technical purchaser at METTLER TOLEDO Cargoscan plays a crucial role in ensuring the procurement of specialized technical parts, components, and services that meet the high quality and innovation standards METTLER TOLEDO is known for. This role requires close collaboration with R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Production to obtain materials and services that support groundbreaking precision instruments and solutions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Evaluate and understand complex technical specifications related to precision measurement instruments and associated components.
Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers capable of delivering high-quality technical components and services aligned with METTLER TOLEDO’s quality and compliance standards.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and purchase agreements to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure purchased materials meet technical and regulatory requirements.
Monitor supplier performance metrics, conduct audits when necessary, and implement corrective actions to maintain supplier excellence.
Manage procurement lifecycle including purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and resolving any supply chain disruptions.
Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives within the supply chain.
Effectively utilize ERP systems (SAP) to streamline and manage all procurement activities with accuracy and efficiency.

What You Need to Succeed

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a technical buyer, preferably within manufacturing, or related industries.
Strong understanding of technical product requirements, supplier qualification processes, and procurement best practices.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Relevant job experience can compensate for education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, procurement, or related fields.

Personal skills:

Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal skills
Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
Strong analytical abilities (root cause).
Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to go extra mile.
Fluent in Norwegian and English, both verbal and written.
