Jotun Group Purchasing is seeking an ambitious purchaser with a strong commercial mindset and solid technical understanding. This role requires the ability to manage day-to-day responsibilities while also taking a strategic and tactical approach to purchasing activities. A key area of focus will be on Construction Contracts, with particular emphasis on FIDIC contracts. As a purchaser at Jotun, you will be accountable for initiating and executing procurement activities, as well as managing and coordinating purchasing tasks according to Group Purchasing’s policies, principles, guidelines, and procedures related to Indirect Materials (IM). We expect an understanding and interest in sustainability as this is increasingly important.
Responsibilities

Take an active role and assume responsibility for the purchasing process in selected projects, with a particular emphasis on new factory projects.

Manage assigned spend areas for indirect materials by developing and executing both strategic and tactical initiatives in line with the Spend Area Management Concept. This ensures an effective purchasing process that delivers on objectives such as continuity of supply, competitive terms, sustainability, and value creation.

Ensure all purchasing activities adhere to the Jotun Purchasing Policy and relevant procedures, thereby safeguarding the integrity of the procurement function and promoting a professional and responsible image consistent with company strategy.

Conduct regular negotiations with indirect material suppliers, using insights from market intelligence and spend area plans to achieve effective outcomes that align with purchasing objectives.

Foster effective cross-functional collaboration with relevant stakeholders within Jotun to secure innovative, cost-effective, sustainable, and competitive solutions from suppliers.

Promote alignment with spend area plans among local and regional purchasing departments by communicating agreements and monitoring compliance to achieve purchasing objectives and category targets.

Support the Group Purchasing Director by providing necessary tools, training, and assistance to local purchasing organizations, with the aim of continually enhancing their efficiency and effectiveness.
What We Look for
We are seeking an individual who demonstrates a strong commercial interest and possesses a structured, positive approach to work. The ideal candidate is capable of building trust and establishing effective working relationships with colleagues, while also excelling in conducting independent analysis and evaluations.
Applicants may hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration or have a background in legal studies. However, other relevant educational qualifications will also be considered, alongside professional experience and documented achievements.
Since our primary working language is English, candidates must have strong English language skills, both written and spoken.
