We are now strengthening our development team in Bergen with a Developer who wants to build, integrate, and improve business-critical applications used across continents, time zones, and complex supply chains. Help us craft the next generation of shipping solutions.

The Team

As our new Developer you'll be joining a dynamic team of:

• 4 Full-Stack Developers: Our full-stack developers are tech-savvy and love a challenge. They build our internal applications and collaborate with BI to deliver data insights.
• 5 BI Developers: They're passionate about transforming complex data sets into clear, actionable insights that fuel better decision-making across the organization.

The team is a good mix of personalities. They care deeply about the quality of their work, but have a wide range of interests outside the office. Whether you enjoy spending time outdoors, reading, or gaming, you’ll likely find common ground. The team is friendly, welcoming, and enjoys spending time together after work.

Our IT organization in Bergen consists of 19 employees across business intelligence and analytics (5), cloud infrastructure (7), application development (4), and information security (3). In addition, we have a dedicated IT support team of 14 colleagues based in Manila.

Together, the teams manage shared data platforms and integrations, operate and scale cloud and on-prem infrastructure, develop and maintain business-critical applications and APIs, and ensure security is built into all IT and digital initiatives through monitoring, risk management, and compliance.

Key responsibilities:

• Build application integrations between various business systems, using Azure services and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Design, develop, and maintain internal business applications using Vue 3 and Azure Static Web Apps.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand user needs and provide technical solutions.

Your background and experience:

• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, or other programming languages with a desire to move into this stack.
• Solid understanding in API development and integration of RESTful services.
• Knowledge of Vue 3 and Vuetify is advantageous.
• Experience with Azure cloud-based services, such as Azure Functions, Azure Static Web Apps, and Application Insights.
• Knowledge of Azure SQL Database.
• Understanding of middleware and message brokers, including Azure Service Bus and Azure Event Grid, is a plus.
• Competence in developing and troubleshooting applications in Visual Studio Code.
• Ability to write unit tests in Node.js and TypeScript using Jest.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and version control systems.
