Join a global team energizing the transformation of industry and society for a more productive, sustainable future. We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to strengthen our Cyber, IT, and Automation team in Stavanger. In this role, you’ll work with advanced automation systems, focusing on cyber security and operational technology (OT) for both Norwegian and international customers.

Do you have experience with OT-Networks, IT, or Cyber Security and want to join one of the largest professional environments in Norway? At ABB, we are now looking for Senior Engineers to be part of our strong professional environment working with OT-network, IT, and cyber security-related topics in the products and systems we deliver to our customers. The professional environment consists of approximately 60 skilled engineers located in Bergen, Oslo, Stavanger, and Stord.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and execute projects involving cyber security, OT networks, and automation systems for process industries.

• Design, configure, document, and test solutions for traditional and virtual control systems.

• Changes, updates, upgrades, design, configuration and cyber solutions for switches, firewalls, ESXI hosts, windows

• Integrate and secure virtual control systems and large-scale networks.

• Stay updated on new technologies, for example firewalls, network monitoring, threat detection, resilience to cyber-attacks

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards for example IEC 62443

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and share your expertise

• Support project planning, execution, and commissioning, both on-site and from office

Your Background

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in networking, cyber security, automation, or similar. Relevant experience can compensate for formal education

• Proven experience with OT networks, IT, or cyber security in industrial environments

• Practical experience on how to use IEC 62443 standard in industrial control systems and networks

• Ability to lead technical teams and drive project delivery

• Strong understanding of project economics and planning

• Committed to quality and continuous improvement

• Excellent communication skills in English (Norwegian is an advantage)
