The R&D department in Drammen develops market-leading rectifiers and inverters for large international customers around the globe.

We are looking for a skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team, working at the intersection of software, electronics and power electronics.

About the role

In this role, you will contribute to developing embedded systems for advanced power electronics solutions, and contribute to continuous improvements of development processes.

You will be working closely within a cross-functional team to ensure the successful integration of hardware and software components to deliver robust, high-performance products.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded systems and software

• Work with low-level programming (C/C++, assembly e.g.) close to hardware

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to embedded systems

• Document design specifications, test procedures and results

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulation

• Support system- level integration and testing

• Implement security features to protect embedded systems

Your qualifications

• Background in Electronics-, Mechatronics- or Computer Science field

• Experience with embedded systems/systems design and firmware development is preferred

• Programming skills in C/C++ (low-level) and experience with Python for scripting

• Knowledge of microcontrollers architecture, electronics, and hardware-near programming

• Experience with communication protocols

• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git

• Knowledge of hardware debugging and integration

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for embedded systems is preferred

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybernetics, or Electronic Engineering, is required.

• Fluent in English language, oral and written
