As a chef at Melbu Hotell, you will work in a small, close-knit kitchen team where independence, responsibility, and teamwork are equally important. You will be involved in the full kitchen operation -- from planning and preparation to service and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Planning, preparing, and executing food service from start to finish
Preparing and serving 3-course dinners for groups (up to approx. 100 guests during peak season)
Working with a seasonal summer menu for individual guests
Using local, traditional, and eco-friendly ingredients whenever possible
Maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and sustainability

Our food concept is based on:

Norwegian traditional dishes combined with globally loved classics
Sustainability and environmentally conscious choices

Melbu Hotell is a traditional and privately owned hotel with 58 rooms , a restaurant, and an outdoor restaurant and terrace. We are located in the coastal village of Melbu, perfectly situated between Vesterålen and Lofoten -- one of the most beautiful regions in the world.

Our guests are mainly travelers who enjoy outdoor experiences such as hiking, biking, fishing, the Midnight Sun, and the Northern Lights. We welcome both individual travelers and arranged group tours. In this setting, food plays an essential role in the overall guest experience.

Sustainability is a core value for us, and we are proud to be Eco-Lighthouse certified . We focus on local ingredients, environmentally conscious choices, and genuine hospitality. As a mid-range hotel, we aim to be known as a friendly, welcoming place with knowledgeable and personal service for every guest.
