Protector Insurance is the fastest-growing insurance company and the challenger in the Nordic region, France and the UK. With NOK 14bn in turnover, nearly 700 employees, and an ambition to continue to grow in Europe. Our culture and values make us unique. They are at the heart of everything we do and guide us in everyday decisions. At Protector, the path to decisions is shorter, the tasks are broader, the relationships are closer, and the opportunities for development are endless. We create a motivating, forward-thinking, and rewarding work environment with knowledge sharing across age and experience.

We build and run our own insurance systems -- and we are looking for a Team Lead for our Claims development team. This is a key role where you combine people leadership for 7-9 dedicated developers with hands-on involvement to deliver robust, scalable, and user-friendly solutions for claims handling. All of this in close cooperation with Product Owner and our business organization.

You will:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a cross-functional team.

  • Ensure efficient and high-quality delivery of IT solutions - of course supported by the best AI models in the market, as well as a modern tech stack with Java as basis, run in Google cloud.

  • Contribute hands-on with planning, coordination, problem-solving or coding.

  • Drive strong engineering practices and continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with other Team Leads to manage dependencies and improve ways of working.

We believe the right candidate combines leadership skills with solid IT understanding and a proactive mindset on utilizing new technology.

You have:

  • A strong interest in people leadership and team development.

  • The ability to structure, plan, and follow up deliveries.

  • A proactive and adaptable mindset, comfortable with driving change.

  • Successfully taken AI coding tools into operational, daily use for yourself and your team.

  • Strong communication skills in English -- written and spoken.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role (e.g. Team Lead, Engineering Manager, Tech Lead with people responsibility).

  • A relevant degree from e.g Computer Science/Engineering/Interaction design.

Experience from insurance or claims processes is an advantage but curiosity and ability to learn are even more important.

Why join Protector IT?
  • You enjoy working in an organization with a strong feedback and follow-up culture, get motivated by ambitious and measurable targets, as well as little bureaucracy and fast decisions.

  • You get excited about developing core systems in-house and see the results of your effort -- tomorrow or in two years. Knowing that you have had real influence.

  • You will work in a DevOps-oriented environment with strong ownership to tasks -- with a short distance from idea to production.

  • You will work closely with both business and technology in a company with strong growth ambitions -- also in new countries.

  • You are excited about what new technology like AI can do and is keen and capable of making sure we are in front of the race.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact IT Development Manager Lars Erik Stangstuen on +47 90527512 or Lars.Erik.Stangstuen@protectorforsikring.no
