After School Programme Assistant

About the position

Starting date: 1st August 2026

Position: 24% - 35%

Working hours:

14:30 - 16:30 on school days (with the possibility for extra hours during school holidays (Autumn Holiday, Winter Holiday, late June)

We are looking for someone who:

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about student wellbeing and have the ability to make a difference in the journey of our children.

Your responsibilities:

• to work in the After School Programme

• to support the social and emotional development of students;

• to facilitate varied and inclusive play and learning activities;

• Leading and supporting various activity groups and following up individual children and student groups in our After School Programme (SFO);

• to follow up students in various activities and in various arenas, both outside and inside in all kinds of weather;

• Homework Club supervision

Your qualifications:

• Relevant experience with children is desirable.

• Fluent in English.

Your skills:

• Clear and warm adult who is present for the children;

• Good at building relationships with children and adults;

• Patient and caring with a determination to bring out the very best in children;

• Ability to stay calm and objective when presented with challenging behaviours;

• Ability to work with parents;

• Ability to create trust by being open, sincere and professional;

• A positive attitude, a good mood and contributes to well-being in the workplace;

• Flexible, solution-oriented and accepts that your work tasks may change when needed.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Positive and reliable

  • Enjoys working with children

  • Flexible and works well in a team

  • Available on weekdays from 14:30 - 16:30 (with the possibility for extra hours during school holidays)

Salary and benefits

The position is paid as an assistant according to the latest Hovedtariffoppgjøret (KS). The person hired will normally be paid from 382.500 to 513.100 NOK per year (for a full time position) depending on qualifications and seniority.

A 2% contribution to the Pension Fund is deducted from the salary.
