THE CHALLENGE:

Want to build the code behind the live streaming engines powering the world’s greatest sporting moments? At Sportradar, your Java expertise helps deliver the winning serve in the ATP, the buzzer-beater in the NBA, and the next big sports innovation, with millions of fans relying on your work every day.

The Audiovisual engineering team in Trondheim is responsible for creating the video streaming platform that delivers over 1500 live matches daily to more than 100 customers worldwide.

You will be working on the orchestration layer or our analytics engine. We run in multiple regions where high availability is crucial. We value observability and modern testable code.

As our Backend Developer, you will:

• Work with the following tech stack: Java (majority is on 21), SpringBoot 3, Kubernetes, MySQL, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.

• Participate in Code Reviews and writing tests -- we are a quality-focused company

• Contribute to developing new solutions, sharing your ideas and opinions, and implementing them

YOUR PROFILE:

Must have:

• At least 2-3 years of experience in backend technologies like Java or Kotlin

• A problem-solving attitude, i.e. not just focused on writing code, but on tackling complex problems and determining how best to solve them

• Understanding of software architecture principles

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS services like EKS, RDS, Lambda, etc.

• Experience with Java Testing Frameworks

• Familiarity with API development

• Familiarity with AI models like LLM’s or Computer Vision

• Willingness to practice TDD and pair programming

• Proactively identify improvement areas and propose changes with clear benefits to the team
